AIR FORCE: 18th Solidarity Day for the Children of Fallen Military Personnel

AIR FORCE: 18th Solidarity Day for the Children of Fallen Military Personnel

On Friday, September 25, 2026, the Air Force Headquarters hosted the 18th edition of its traditional Solidarity Day in the "Late Army General Sadio Camara" amphitheater.

The ceremony brought together various civilian and military dignitaries, including the representative of the event’s patron—retired Chief Warrant Officer Jean Dembélé—as well as representatives of the Air Force’s partners.

Through this event, the Air Force, with the support of its partners, provided assistance to the children of its fallen comrades-in-arms, thereby demonstrating its commitment to the values of solidarity, military brotherhood, and gratitude toward those who served the nation.

In his address, Brigadier General Boï Diarra noted that this 18th edition was dedicated primarily to the children of "our colleagues who are no longer with us." In this regard, he emphasized the need to remain committed to a fundamental value: preserving—with faith, dignity, and humility—the legacy left by those who departed too soon, while honoring the service they rendered to the nation.

The ceremony also featured a moment of solemn reflection in tribute to the fallen. A minute of silence was observed in their memory, as well as in memory of all those who lost their lives in the service of the nation.

Speaking on behalf of the patron, retired Chief Warrant Officer Jean Dembélé urged the participants to pay special attention to the education and future of the children receiving this support. He urged everyone to help support, advise, and encourage them to continue their education, so that they may become educated, responsible citizens who contribute to society.

Addressing the beneficiaries directly, he encouraged them to show determination and discipline in their studies and to take a greater interest in science and technology—fields he described as essential for acquiring knowledge and building a future rooted in dignity and responsibility.

This 18th Solidarity Day reaffirmed the commitment of the Air Force and its partners to supporting the children of fallen service members. It also served as a moment of remembrance and gratitude toward veterans and all those who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation.

The ceremony concluded with expressions of thanks to the regular partners for their availability and unwavering support.
