The handover ceremony for the affordable housing units of the "One Firefighter, One Roof" project, led by the Civil Protection Mutual (MUPROTEC), took place this Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Missala.
Presided over by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection, Oumar Sogoba, representing the Minister, the event brought together several civil and military authorities as well as numerous Civil Protection officials.
The project includes the construction of 45 homes for firefighters.
Speaking at the event, the village chief of Missala welcomed the authorities and all the guests. He praised the implementation of this project and expressed his satisfaction at seeing this initiative come to fruition in his community. For his part, the mayor of Kalanbacoro welcomed MUPROTEC's initiative. He also took the opportunity to submit several requests to the authorities regarding the needs of the locality, particularly the rehabilitation of paved roads.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection, Oumar Sogoba, expressed the department's gratitude to MUPROTEC for this initiative. He then laid the foundation stone for a new phase of the housing program.
According to him, the "One Firefighter, One Roof" project is fully aligned with the ministry's commitment to improving the living and working conditions of Civil Protection personnel. The goal, he emphasized, is to gradually provide each firefighter with decent housing that meets the required standards.
The Secretary General called for this momentum to continue for the benefit of the various branches under the ministry's purview. “Ultimately, the goal is to enable firefighters to secure housing before their retirement, in recognition of their service to the nation,” he added.
For his part, Firefighter Lieutenant Alouseyni Niagasam expressed his gratitude to the authorities and was pleased to be among the beneficiaries of this project, in his capacity as an elected official and donor.
Through the “One Firefighter, One Roof” project, MUPROTEC demonstrates its commitment to strengthening social support for Civil Protection personnel and to helping them achieve the prospect of decent housing at the end of their careers.
